RUBEN RUIZ, M.D
Internal Medicine
Ruben Ruiz, M.D. is Medical Director of the Clinica Medica Familiar clinics and Bella Aesthetica Med Spa. He graduated from UCLA School of Medicine in 1982 and completed postgraduate medical studies, internship, and residency in the Department of Internal Medicine at King Drew Medical Center in 1985.
His plethora of experience includes prestigious positions that include Clinical preceptor of the Physicians Assistant programs at Stanford University School of Medicine and College of Osteopathic Medicine of The Pacific; Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at UCLA/Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science; Medical Director of Clinica Medica Familiar, the largest provider to Hispanics in southern California; Physician Specialist-Internal Medicine/Director Adult Medicine; and other Director and Physician Specialist positions in the Los Angeles area.
Other professional appointments include Chairmanship, Physician Advisory Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, and Utilization Review Committee with prominent institutions such as King Drew Medical Center/Community Health Plan at King Drew, LA Immunizations Task Force, and Cerritos College.
To round out his career Dr. Ruiz has authored and lectured at celebrated institutions such as Charles R Drew / UCLA School of Medicine, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and King Drew Medical Center, on the subjects of, “Topics in General Internal Medicine,” “Team Care in a Capitated System, and ”Case Management in Hypertension.” In addition Dr. Ruiz co-authored and published, “Effect of Chronic Alcoholism on Aminolevulinic Acid Dehydratase in Human Liver.”
Dr. Ruiz is licensed by the state of California and has enjoyed private practice since 1991. He is bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish. His desire is to provide the highest standard of comprehensive care, at an affordable cost, in a warm and caring environment.

GINGER LEON, D.O.
Family Medicine
Ginger Leon, D.O. graduated from Western University of Health Sciences as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. She completed both her internship and residency at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach in 2004. Her research experience extends into the area of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Teenage high-risk behavior related to AIDS.
Dr. Leon enjoys volunteer experience and activities associated with prominent institutions such as the Tijuana Clinic Team, the Howard Hughes (BEI) Program, Health Careers Opportunity Program Mentor, and Externship in Family Medicine.
Dr. Leon is licensed by the state of California and is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is bilingual in English and proficient Spanish. Her lifelong desire is to dedicate herself to the Hispanic community she says is underserved.

RICARDO VELA, PA/FNP
Family Medicine
Ricardo Vela, FNP/PA, graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine in September, 2001 with dual degrees, as a Physician Assistant and Family Nurse Practitioner. He is licensed by the state of California and has practiced medicine since 1997.
With his humble upbringing, Mr. Vela contributes significant time as an instructor and mentor to the “underserved” Hispanic community in various organizations. He is bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish and his achievements in the Hispanic community are influential to the adults and youth he has dedicated himself to serve.

Maria Del Carmen Torres, MS, PA-C
Family Medicine
Maria Del Carmen Torres, MS, PA-C graduated from Western University of Health Sciences as a Physician Assistant in 2004. She is licensed by the state of California and Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Ms. Torres’s clinical experience includes Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Community Health, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Infectious Disease, Neurology, and General Surgery.
She enjoys giving back to the community with substantial involvement with the SGI-USA Health Fair, Western University Medical Center, UCLA Medical Aid Ward, and Mission Convalescent Hospital. Ms. Torres is bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish and finds solace and blessings with her contributions within the community.

Rossy Perez, PA-C, graduated from Riverside County Regional Medical Center/Riverside Community College Physician Assistant Program in August, 2004. She is licensed by the state of California and Board Certified by The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Her extensive clerkship training includes Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Internal Medicine including the Intensive Care Unit, Psychiatry, and Emergency Medicine.
Most recently, Ms. Perez has added to her distinguished credentials by receiving training in the field of Med Spa certification.
Born in Merida/Yucatan, Mexico, Ms. Perez is fluent in both English and Spanish and is passionate about her involvement with the Hispanic community she enthusiastically serves.

Grace Buonavita, PA-C
Grace Buonavita, PA-C, graduated from Western University of Health Sciences as a Physician Assistant in 1994. She is licensed by the state of California and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
She enjoys the prestigious honor of being the first Physician Assistant to be hired by the San Bernardino County Hospital Emergency Room. As a hospital’s Emergency Room is the most “active” department in all hospitals, the appointment in this area is reserved for those providers who have shown excellence in performance, and a cool disposition during peak intervals.
Ms. Buonavita is bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish and enjoys close ties with the Hispanic community she dedicates herself to serve.

Martin Madrigal, PA-C
Martin Madrigal, PA-C graduated from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science as a Physician Assistant in 2003. He is licensed by the state of California and Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Mr. Madrigal enjoys more than fourteen successful years in the health care industry. His lifelong dream as a young man was to have the opportunity to bring aid to those in need which he has dedicated himself to nurture six days a week. He is bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish and passionately serves the Hispanic community he so loves.

Rosa Pallan, PA-C graduated from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science as a Physician Assistant in 2008. She is licensed by the state of California and Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Ms. Pallan’s clinical and rotation experience includes Geriatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, and Internal Medicine. She has completed research in the area of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at King Drew Medical Center and has been involved with the community as an Emergency Room Volunteer at King Drew Medical Center, and La Libertad Medical Clinic.
Most recently, Ms. Pallan has added to her distinguished credentials by receiving training in the field of Med Spa certification. Ms. Pallan is bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish and is passionate about her work with Hispanics. She is enthusiastically looking forward to the opportunity of building a future with Latinos, her Hispanic heritage, in both Family Medicine and in Med Spa Practice.
